WHMIS 2015 Training

SHORT TERM COURSES (LESS THAN 2 HOURS)

Given the importance of global trade in chemicals and the need to develop national programs to ensure the safe use, transport and disposal of these products, it was recognized that international harmonization of classification and labelling would provide the basis for such programs. As a result, in February 2015, Canada amended its regulations to update WHMIS to harmonize with the GHS. The transition period to WHMIS 2015 expired on November 30, 2018. At that time, all chemicals in the workplace must comply with the Hazardous Products Regulations. The regulations also require employers to educate and train their workers on WHMIS 2015, as well as the new labels and safety data sheets, as they will be mandatory in the workplace very soon.
